Once you can lay down a short set of beat matched vinyl, we will finish the time to transition to a digital setup with a DJ controller and Traktor DJ software. Preparing for our first vinyl set, each student will have time working the turntables with the instructor’s guidance, preparing their tracks, getting a feel for beat matching, and having fun touching the music on vinyl. We will be focusing on a “hands on” approach in the DJ booth. We will explore the various beat structures of popular EDM genres, and learn the ins and outs of mixing tracks together.Įach student will get a hands-on feel for the vinyl turntable, DJ mixer, and prepare to drop their first vinyl beat.
